Fez hosts the 39th National Architect’s Day

The spiritual capital of the Kingdom is preparing to host the 39th National Architect’s Day, under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI. This event, organized by the National Council of the Order of Architects (CNOA) in partnership with the Ministry of National Territorial Planning, Urban Planning, Housing and City Policy, will be held on January 14 in Fez.

The theme chosen for this edition, “The Citizen Architect facing climate change: The issue of Energy and Water”, highlights the essential role of architects in the fight against the effects of climate change.

Since its creation, National Architect’s Day has paid tribute to the historic speech delivered by the late His Majesty King Hassan II on January 14, 1986 in Marrakech. This year, the theme at the center of the event reflects a desire to respond to the major climatic challenges affecting Morocco, in particular prolonged droughts, water shortages and ecological disruptions.

During the 2024 Throne Day, His Majesty King Mohammed VI highlighted the seriousness of the water problem: “One of the major challenges is the water problem, which continues to become more complex due to drought, the impact of climate change and natural growth in demand.
