Thirteen years after its inauguration, the Alpes-Léman hospital center (CHAL), in Contamine-sur-Arvein the agglomeration of Annemasse, in Haute-Savoiewill change his face. In fact, its technical platform and laboratory will be expanded.
And large construction sitewhich started in September 2024 and should last almost four years. The work, carried out on an occupied site, aims to “optimize the quality of patient care and improve the working conditions of hospital professionals”according to CHAL management.
Alpes-Léman hospital center: 3,000 m2 new surfaces
A three-storey extensionwith more than 3,000 m² of added surface area et 3,600 m² of restructured surface areawill see the light of day.
The reception of emergencies of the Alpes-Léman hospital center will thus be reviewed to improve the fluidity, safety and quality of care. “These architectural developments will make it possible to better identify the different existing care channels within emergencies, including in the event of new epidemic phenomena such as Covid-19”, indicates the direction.
The laboratory premises will be readapted with the creation of a molecular biology sector. The operating theaters will also be rehabilitated. “The adaptation of the premises will also make it possible to offer new, innovative, attractive and less invasive methods of care. A hybrid room, with scanner, with a territorial vocation will also be installed within the operating theater.”
A pre-labor room and a gynecological and obstetric emergency sector will be created. Also on the agenda is the rearrangement of the pre-sterilization area.
Léon Grosse in charge of work on the Alpes-Léman hospital center
This is the Aix-les-Bains group Leon Grosse who will be in charge of structural work of the operation, imagined by the cabinet d’architecture Groupe-6. Several phases of work have been defined:phase 1, construction of new surfaces (until March 2026); phases 2 to 5, moving and restructuring of existing premises (from March 2026 to March 2028).
The extension work on the Alpes-Léman hospital center will cost a total of 26 million euros. The delivery is planned for 2028.
