Oscar Burillo, the Saignelégier fitness manager, who took over management of the Leisure Center room 14 years ago, does not take a dim view of the arrival of a new room. “This will allow new people to discover the practice,” believes the manager. The Saignelégier fitness center includes a room with fitness machines, a group class room and a “functional fitness” room.

A project that doubles

Rémy Stadelmann is not the only one to open a gym in the coming months. In Les Breuleux, Céline Dubois and Mathias Rais have joined forces to open a fitness room in Les Breuleux and Noirmont. Originally, the project only concerned the Breulotier village, says Céline Dubois. “I am sporty myself and I looked for what was missing in the village, especially to liven up the center more,” she says. While waiting to find the right location in Les Breuleux, an opportunity presented itself in Noirmont, and the duo decided to jump at the chance.

For Céline Dubois, there is demand for fitness rooms that are “friendly and local. We are not trying to compete with the big chains”. The Breuleux room should open in March and the Noirmont room during the month of May. “There is more work to be done there,” says Breulotière, who also wants to set up group lessons in addition to the training machines offered.

Oscar Burillo notes that the practice of fitness has grown in popularity: “In 30 years, mentalities have evolved a lot and the demand is ever greater.” According to the physical trainer, competition takes place rather between sports halls and sports clubs, because “in the gym, there are no fixed schedules or constraints like the weather”.
