Morocco called, Tuesday in Doha, on the occasion of the 14th Conference of Arab Ministers of Education, for the development of an Arab strategy to develop the uses of artificial intelligence (AI) in education and teaching.

On this occasion, the Minister of National Education, Preschool and Sports, president of the National Commission for Education, Sciences and Culture, Mohamed Saad Berrada, underlined the need to make AI a lever essential in education, training and scientific research, by strengthening its accessibility, effectiveness and adaptability to the needs of Arab societies.

In a speech read on his behalf by Younes Shimi, secretary general of the ministry, Mr. Berrada reviewed the efforts made by Morocco, represented at this event by a large delegation, to gradually integrate AI into the process educational, through its use in the fight against dropping out of school and improving results, emphasizing that the training and capacity building of teachers constitutes another area where this technology can be used to adapt training to the needs of students and develop the skills of the teaching staff.

Mr. Berrada also returned to the vital project of reform of the education system in Morocco, which draws its reference from the High Guidelines of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, specifying that as part of its 2021-2026 program, the government is continuing to implement implementation of this reform, through “the 2022-2026 roadmap for quality public schools for all”.

At the same time, he focused on the ambitious “pioneer schools” project aimed at establishing a new model of public school, based on quality learning with the aim of transforming teaching methods and approaches. , noting that the 2022-2026 roadmap for education reform grants a special place to the teaching staff through a set of programs dedicated to them.

On the other hand, the minister highlighted the sustained efforts made by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, President of the Al-Quds Committee, in support of the resistance of the Palestinian people, welcoming the fundamental role of the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency , executive arm of the Committee, through the implementation for the benefit of the inhabitants of the Holy City of numerous development projects, particularly in the fields of education, science and culture.

Regarding Moroccan-African cooperation, the minister recalled that the year 2024 was marked by the creation of the African Institute for Lifelong Learning, in application of the High Royal Guidelines, expressed in the message from His Majesty the King addressed to participants in the 7th UNESCO International Conference on Adult Education, held in Marrakech in 2022.

During this session, which was marked by the handover from Morocco to Qatar of the presidency of the Congress, the Arab Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) paid tribute to the Kingdom for its efforts in the field of Education and teaching.
