Senegal is preparing to face new African competitions with the stated ambition of preserving its current titles. The National Technical Directorate (DTN) affirmed this objective during a crucial meeting with national supervisors. During this event, Mayacine Mar, the National Technical Director, unveiled a preparation strategy for each team, supported by the Senegalese Federation (FSF), which is committed to providing the necessary resources to repeat their success.

Senegal recently presented an ambitious plan for upcoming African tournaments, aiming to repeat the trophies won in previous competitions. This declaration of intent was formulated on Monday January 6 during an assembly of national teams, in the presence of technical staff. Mayacine Mar insisted on the importance of evaluating past competitions and developing specific schedules for each team, in order to ensure the defense of their titles. He notably mentioned the women’s national team, with which he hopes to win the African Cup of Nations (CAN).

Mar stressed the need for organization and a rigorous preparation program. He said: “To keep the titles, you need good organization. For us, the best organization is a meeting with the staff and evaluating the competitions in which we have participated but also preparing a schedule for our teams towards these dates. They are not yet confirmed except for CHAN which will start on February 1, 2025. » This plan will include preparation courses, tournaments and friendly matches, with the confirmed support of the FSF.

The Federation is committed to financially supporting these initiatives, ensuring that all necessary means will be made available. “The president of the Senegalese Football Federation told me that he will do everything possible. Because we want to perpetuate the results that we have,” added Mayacine Mar, emphasizing the importance of this commitment for Senegalese football. The achievement of this unique “grand slam” in Africa is a reason for pride and an objective to be magnified, according to our colleagues at Sud Quotidien.

Amara Traoré, member of the FSF executive committee, reiterated this collective ambition for success, based on the unity of Senegalese football through the concept “Manko Wutti ndamli”. Traoré assured: “That is to say the great “Manko Wutti ndamli” helped to participate in having these trophies. So, it’s time for us to be united. » This spirit of unity, combined with strategies well developed by the DTN, as well as the creation of training centers in Guéréo and Toubab Dialaw, have made it possible to transform the national selections into competitive teams, ready to defend their titles, as reported by Sud Quotidien.
