A participatory grocery store will open in this Cotentin town

In December 2024the town of Mesnil-au-Val (Manche) inaugurated its participatory grocery storelocated next to the town hall.

The Mesnillais responded to this invitation and discovered a warm placewhich will allow its members to provide themselves with local products. You can indeed order meatof poissonof the dairy productsof the vegetablesof the poultry and others.

Subsidies from the State and the Cotentin Urban Community covered half of the financing of this project. It is also necessary to emphasize the intense participation of volunteerswhich made it possible to considerably reduce the bill. Without them, the creation of this grocery store would not have been possible.

“We would like to thank the store director E.Leclerc of Tourlaville and his close colleagues for the donations of equipment as well as for the buffet generously offered on the occasion of this inauguration. Some various donations also made this creation possible, we warmly thank all the donors,” specifies the municipality.

Expected this Monday January 6, 2024l’opening to the public will allow create links between residents et promote short circuits thanks to partnerships with local producers. Of the dry emergency products will also allow members to refuel.

Residents are therefore invited to actively participate in the success of this new adventure.
