Two men were indicted on Friday January 3, after the discovery, on December 30, of more than two tons of cocaine hidden in a container at the port of Le Havre (Seine-Maritime).
Divided into black sports bags, 2 tonnes of cocaine were seized at the port of Le Havre (Seine-Maritime) on December 30. Their market value is estimated at 130 million euros. Two men were indicted, a 22-year-old dockworker and a 41-year-old truck driver.
The traffickers' modus operandi aroused suspicions of complicity within the port itself. An empty container, clone container, is placed upstream on the discharge dock. It is identical to the container loaded with drugs. The traffickers take the container loaded with drugs, passing the empty one through security checks.
Such sleight of hand has never been detected in France. The port of Le Havre is one of the main entry points for cocaine into France, often on board ships coming from the Antilles (Overseas).
