Friday January 3 around 11:30 p.m., a driver behind the wheel of a Renault car refused to comply on the Promenade des Anglais in Nice. A speed control operation was in progress. The man “without a license or insurance, under the influence of drugs, phone in hand and wearing an electronic bracelet” according to Christian Estrosi, mayor of Nice, was flashed at 119km/h.
In his refusal to comply, the driver hit a municipal police motorcyclist.

“Fortunately, the experienced officer was not injured, but remains very shocked”specifies the mayor on his X account.

Christian Estrosi waits “exemplary sanctions against this irresponsible and unconscious individual”. And informed “the Prosecutor of our desire to file a complaint for endangering the lives of others”.
He recalls: “Every day, 70 refusals to comply are recorded in France. What are we waiting for so that the sanctions incurred are commensurate with the consequences of these acts? This behavior transforms vehicles into potential weapons. Tougher measures are urgent! “
