Friday January 3 around 11:30 p.m., a driver behind the wheel of a Renault car refused to comply on the Promenade des Anglais in . A speed control operation was in progress. The man “without a license or insurance, under the influence of drugs, phone in hand and wearing an electronic bracelet” according to Christian Estrosi, mayor of Nice, was flashed at 119km/h.

In his refusal to comply, the driver hit a municipal police motorcyclist.
