A start to the year marked by a new cold snap
Île-de-France is preparing to face freezing rain. While the region's departments were placed on orange snow and ice vigilance this Saturday, the police headquarters announced the activation of level 2 of the “snow and ice” plan (PNVIF) since 5 p.m. this Saturday.
This weekend back from vacation, road users are urged to be vigilant. Due to the bad weather forecast, the police chief indicated that “the speed limit is lowered by 20 km/h on all axes of the road network within the territorial scope of application of the PNVIF, excluding the Paris ring road”. And this until midnight.
Favor public transport
In its press release, the police headquarters recommends that motorists anticipate their trip and their route, bring warm clothing and food in case they are stuck on the road, respect traffic restrictions, equip themselves with snow tires or to be attentive to the road surface in case of ice. Favoring public transport is also recommended.
