A rainy air mass approaching the Guadeloupean archipelago from the South-East is causing a deterioration in weather conditions locally.
The sky over Guadeloupe will darken this Saturday afternoon (January 4, 2025); bad weather is forecast to last until Sunday morning. The archipelago is placed on yellow alert for “heavy rain and thunderstorms” from this midday.
The weather conditions become humid, with the arrival of a rainy air mass from the South-East.
Showers are expected in the coming hours; they are sometimes moderate and can already give good accumulations, in Basse-Terre and the Point region, indicates Météo France.
After a small lull in the evening, they will be back, in the second part of the night and morning of tomorrow, mainly on Basse-Terre, as well as on Marie-Galante and Les Saintes.
The weather will then be drier.
During the episode, accumulations can reach, over 3 hours, 30 to 50 mm, up to 70 mm on the relief, or even more.
Gusts to 60 km/h will be associated with the heaviest showers.
