Mandatory operation
A visit to the vet later revealed that Balto was suffering from a narrowing of the urinary tract, probably due to untreated trauma. The diagnosis was then clear: an operation was necessary.
The problem was obviously money. In fact this type of operation costs a thousand euros.
The association therefore explained Balto’s problem on social networks and, at the same time, launched a call for donations.
An appeal which was quickly heard since the association collected the funds in a few weeks.
Balto was therefore operated on at the Visé veterinary clinic on November 26. An operation which went well, Balto regaining his normal urinary capacity.
But the Husky still had to be re-educated. This is what has been done in recent weeks in the infrastructures of the Hamine association.
Here too things went as planned and Balto regained all his abilities. The animal was therefore put up for adoption. “And there too everything went well since a person living in the Amay region came to see Balto and wanted to adopt him even though Balto’s rehabilitation was not finished,” smiles Fabrice Renard.
Thanks to donors
“We still finished his rehabilitation before accepting the adoption. We thank Balto’s wonderful adopters who, touched by his experience, did not hesitate for a second to give him the life he so deserves. Thank you also to the donors who helped cover part of the operating costs: Balto owes this new life to them too.”
And Fabrice Renard launches an appeal to good souls: “Times are hard for everyone, this is of course also the case for our Shelter. If you would like to support Animal Sans Toi… you can make a donation to the shelter’s account, BE48 1270 6282 4727”.
