Before you start reading, I would like to point out that these are two very distinct pieces of information, but which are perhaps the result of the same market. On the one hand we have an “aging” Meta Quest Pro which is officially stopping its sales and on the other an Apple Vision Pro which has failed to find its audience.
I naturally start with the Meta Quest Pro. After stopping production for several months to rely solely on stocks, it is no longer possible to purchase a Meta Quest Pro directly from the manufacturer. Besides, if you want to buy one, I obviously invite you not to take the plunge. It is always difficult to determine whether the product will continue to be framed for a long time. As a reminder, the Quest Pro was launched in 2022 with a price of 1,500.- CHF. The latter can now easily be replaced by a Quest 3 or Quest 3S.
Regarding Apple’s headset, namely: the famous Apple Vision Pro. The latter seems to be rather in turmoil. Less than a year after its launch, the product’s production lines appear to be at a standstill. Note that despite all the rumors, nothing has really been made official by the Apple brand. With a starting price of more than 3,500.- CHF, it is difficult to imagine such a product taking the elevator. The fact remains that the company has certainly succeeded in creating interest and will be able to maybe in the near future we will offer a less expensive, but equally effective, variant.
So it’s nicely over for VR expensive among the general public.
