Following the attack in New Orleans (United States) which took place on the night of Tuesday December 31 to Wednesday January 1, 2025, investigators know more about the profile of the terrorist. Contrary to previous statements, the FBI no longer considers possible complicity. The man allegedly acted alone in the name of the Islamic State.
He is an American citizen. His name is Shamsud-Din Jabbar. He is 42 years old, born in Texas, he also served in the US army from 2007 to 2015. He is the man who threw his pickup weighing more than two tons at passers-by in New Orleans. Just before, the father took the time to record five videos in his car which were then posted on a social network. The FBI does not show these elements: the attacker claims to have joined the Islamic State organization.
According to investigators, the man acted alone, he had no accomplice. On remote surveillance videos, he appears planting two homemade bombs in the same neighborhood and on the same day. After searching his home in Houston, Texas, investigators seized three phones and two computers.
