Since last fall, the Cantal company Uniplanèze, which brings together a set of regional ready-made meal brands, including Tripoux, has had new premises: an extension of 2,400 m² which allows it to double its surface area on the park. activities of Rozier-Coren in Saint-Flour. The goal: to improve storage capacity. But this work is also an opportunity to modernize the production tool with the aim of reducing the site's overall energy consumption by between 25 and 30%, and that of water by between 40 and 45%. “We carried out a general study in anticipation of the extension of the building in order to assess possible changes,” explains Yannick Rousaire who bought the company in November 2021 with Dominique Sabot and Vincent Echégut.

Heat recovery. Cold and compressed air production facilities were thus abandoned in favor of more efficient machines, and fluorinated refrigerant gases swapped for ammonia, which is more respectful of the ozone layer. Above all, the company has installed waste heat recovery systems on this equipment, used instead of gas for defrosting, keeping the freezer slab frost-free and preheating domestic hot water. The boiler used for steam production should also be replaced at the beginning of 2025 by a new one with variable flow and a heat recovery system from the flue gases. This will be followed by the installation of equipment allowing the recycling of cooling water used during pasteurization/sterilization cycles. The calories from these waters will also be recovered.

All of these installations as well as the interior equipment of the new premises (for storage in particular) were financed by the company for a total of approximately €5.5 million, with the help of the region and the European Fund. for rural development (EAFRD) and Ademe. As for the construction of the building, it was Saint-Flour Communauté which carried it out via a real estate leasing for a period of twenty years for an amount of €4.2 million (with support from the State via the DETR). The community also made land available (6,300 m² with an estimated value of 260,000 euros) and created a parking lot.
