Algeria Football– Moroccan football is changing, and the most striking example of this transformation is the rise to power of RS Berkane. Despite criticism from certain Casablanca “journalists” who question the origin of its financing, Berkane has been able to impose its brand thanks to solid governance and impeccable management.
Criticism aimed at RS Berkane is recurrent, but it seems particularly virulent recently, coinciding with the disappointing performances of the two Casablanca giants, Wydad and Raja. These historic teams, accustomed to dominating the Moroccan championship, find themselves in the middle of the table this season, causing palpable frustration among their supporters and certain observers.
But what is intriguing is that the same journalists who praised the “tradition” and the “power” of the Casablanca clubs never raised the question of financing when the latter reigned supreme. This double standard raises questions about the objectivity of criticism leveled at Berkane.
Success based on vision and management
RS Berkane is today a model of success thanks to a clear vision and a well-structured organization. Unlike Wydad and Raja, who have a budget three to four times greater, Berkane has been able to maximize its resources to build a competitive team.
The contrast is even more striking when we look at the management of Casablanca clubs. Governance scandals have plagued these teams, even leading to the incarceration of their former presidents. These cases reveal catastrophic management which has not only tarnished the image of these legendary clubs, but also affected their sporting performance.
