The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has revealed the list of referees selected for the final phase of the 2025 African Nations Championship (CHAN), which will take place from February 1 to 28 in Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda. Among the selected referees, two Senegalese, Adalbert Diouf and Issa Sy, will have the honor of officiating during this competition.
Adalbert Diouf, international referee since 2019, was chosen as central referee for this tournament. This young referee, who recently officiated the Mali-Mauritania match during the CHAN 2025 qualifiers, will make his first major appearance on the international scene.
Issa Sy, for his part, is an experienced referee, international since 2015, and will be selected to work with the VAR (video assistance to referee) system.
CHAN 2025 will bring together 26 central referees, 25 assistants and 14 video referees. Senegal will also be represented by its local team, reigning champion, which validated its qualification after eliminating Liberia.
The local Lions will try to defend their title acquired during the previous edition in Algeria.
