Elders who have a smile, hair blowing in the wind. This is the objective of the new association A Vélo Sans Âge from Loudéac (Côtes-d’Armor).

Officially launched early 2024the local antenna takes off. Or rather the road. Volunteers now have a scooterfor a few months.

Collect €15,000

“It is loaned to us by the national branch, for a period of six months,” explains Dominique Dutertrepresident of the association, at the origin of its creation.

“It will allow us to promote ourselves. It is more concrete for future volunteers, but also for raise funds. »

Because there lies the next challenge: collecting nearly 15 000 € to buy a scooter, on behalf of the association.

We invite residents to make a donation, but also businesses. This scooter will allow residents of the different nursing homes in Loudéac to be transported around. We already have a lot of requests.

This is stored at the Brocéliande municipal nursing home, in agreement with the town hall, which the association thanks.

Volunteers

The smiles of the residents, some must have certainly seen them during the Christmas market, Sunday December 22, 2024. The association organized outings with its scooter.

“Some people haven’t ridden a bike for years. It is a rebirth», smiles Dominique Dutertre who can already count on around ten volunteers.

“We will still have to find people, among people who are willing to drive the scooter or accompany by being on the bike next to it.”
