And cold snap to start the year! Météo France will place the Manche department in yellow warning for snow and ice from 4 a.m. and until 10 a.m. for the day of this Friday January 3, 2025.

After a drop in temperatures at night from Thursday to Friday, with up to – 1 °C in Pieux, Vesly and Saint-Hilaire-du-Harcouët, the mercury in the thermometer should not rise much in the morning according to forecasts from the meteorological institute: still – 1°C in Saint-Hilaire-du- Harcouët, 0°C in Sacey, and 1°C expected in Pieux, Vesly and Saint-Lô.

With this vigilance, the Manche prefecture invites on social networks the pedestrians and the cyclists to the prudence faced with the increased risk of falls. And she also provides some advice to road users :

• Defrost your vehicle to see and be seen clearly;
• Adopt flexible and preventive driving;
• Reduce your speed;
• Significantly increase safety distances to give yourself every chance of avoiding a collision.
