A 15-year-old girl from Vendée was the victim of an impressive fall this Wednesday around 4 p.m. in La Pierre Saint-Martin. The teenager was injured while walking off the slopes, below the Pyrenean resort.

An uncontrolled slide on icy snow

According to La Republique des Pyrénées, the young girl was playing with her family, far from the ski slopes, when the accident occurred. While walking on a snowy but icy area, she lost her footing and began a slide that was difficult to control. According to initial accounts, she traveled nearly a hundred meters, hitting trees and rocks before ending her journey at the foot of a rocky ridge.

Minor injuries despite the violence of the fall

Despite the violence of the incident, the young girl escaped with relatively minor injuries. “In her bad luck, she was still very lucky” declared Commander Lemetter of the PGHM of Oloron. The obstacles encountered probably slowed his fall and prevented him from more serious injuries. She mainly suffered bruises, abrasions to her face and arms, but no fractures were detected.

Under observation at hospital

Quickly transported to Pau hospital after the accident, the teenager remained under observation this Thursday morning. S
