On the occasion of the New Year 2025, Khalifa Ababacar Sall, leader of the political platform “Taxawu Senegal”, presenting his wishes to the nation, underlines the importance of unity, resilience and economic recovery. He wishes a year 2025 rich in personal achievements, peace, health and prosperity for his fellow citizens.
The elections of March and November 2024 were at the heart of Khalifa Sall’s thoughts. To this end, he insisted on the fact that these elections will leave a lasting mark on the democratic history of Senegal. Despite the challenges, the Senegalese people have demonstrated their attachment to democracy. However, the former mayor of Dakar warned of the inadequacies observed in the electoral process and pleaded for a consolidation of the institutions of the Republic. “Past events remind us of the need to deepen our democracy and guarantee transparent and inclusive elections,” he said, while calling on public authorities to respect fundamental freedoms. According to him, the violation of these rights weakens national cohesion and erodes citizens’ confidence in institutions.
Beyond political issues, Khalifa Sall called for an overhaul of Senegal’s economic sectors. “2025 must be the year of recovery. We must support our businesses, fight youth unemployment and recover our economy,” he declared forcefully. He also insisted on the need to initiate reforms in the areas of education and health, advocating an inclusive and concerted approach.
In this hopeful message, the emblematic figure of Senegalese politics recalled that mutual aid and national unity are essential to overcome the challenges of the present. “In 2025, Senegal will continue to write its history. May our unity remain the beacon that guides us towards a bright future,” he concluded.
Khalifa Ababacar Sall’s wishes come in a context where the Senegalese aspire to renewal and peace, thus underlining the crucial role of politics in building a more just and united society. The year 2025 promises to be a potential turning point for the country, and the call for unity launched by the leader of “Taxawu Senegal” seems to be a necessary step to respond to the challenges that present themselves.
