As the months pass, Moroccan students with Ukrainian diplomas continue to wait for a response to their legitimate requests, particularly in terms of diploma equivalence, their professional future being at stake. The ball is now in the court of the authorities, who parents urge us to act quickly and responsibly to resolve this pending problem.
It seems that the pile of files continues to grow on the desk of Azzedine El Midaoui, Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation. The Association of Parents of Moroccan Students in Ukraine has highlighted a series of outstanding issues concerning the equivalence of the diplomas of these students, the majority of whom completed their distance learning, forced by the tumult of the Russo-Ukrainian war .
In its press release, the association put highlights the challenges these students face. “ The persistence of this situation reflects the absence of a clear vision to deal with this sensitive issue, thus worsening the psychological and material conditions of students and their families. “, she lamented. This bitter observation is accompanied by harsh criticism concerning the lack of responsiveness of the competent institutions, in particular the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, despite multiple requests for consultation.
According to the parents, the Students are faced with “administrative and professional obstacles” which hinder their ability to complete the practical internships essential to obtaining their equivalence. An already complex process becomes a real obstacle course, because the conditions necessary for these courses are cruelly rare.
Furthermore, the association denounces the “ slow and complicated processing of equivalence files ”, stating that “ all the files for the various specialties have not yet been processed “, and that the information provided by the ministry is almost non-existent, which only increases the uncertainty around their future.
The question of the old decree, issued by the previous minister, is also raised. According to the association, this text does nothing to improve the current situation, and its continuation exacerbates the problems. In its call to action, the association calls for an immediate review of procedures, hoping that the equivalence process is accelerated in all areas concerned, and that the duration of internships is adjusted to better correspond to the realities of students.
The urgency of the situation is underlined by the need to financially compensate students during their internships and to improve supervision conditions. In addition, the expansion of training centers nationally has become a requirement, so that these establishments are not only concentrated in the regions of Rabat, Salé-Kénitra and Casablanca-Settat, but accessible to all students, regardless of their place of residence.
To conclude, the association calls on the government on the need for a rapid and effective response and recalls that the country is undergoing a “ acute loss of scientific and intellectual skills » in various sectors. Solving these problems is presented as a national imperative that can no longer be postponed.
