Diamniadio, Dec 29 (APS) – The local Lions delivered a “very accomplished” match during their victory (3-0) against Liberia in a match counting for the return leg of the last round of the qualifiers for the African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2025, assured their coach Souleymane Diallo.
»Victory is the victory of the boys. They wanted to win this match. Overall, it was a very successful match. The instructions were respected, this is an element of satisfaction,” he said on Saturday at a press conference.
The local national football team of Senegal beat that of Liberia (3-0) on Saturday at the Abdoulaye Wade stadium, thus validating its qualification for CHAN 2025.
Oumar Ba (4th min), Baye Assane Ciss (37th min) and Seydina Mandione Mbaye (90th min) scored the goals for Senegal.
» We had a very successful match. The players demonstrated what we worked on in training. We put pressure on the opponent from the start of the match, punished by an early goal,” analyzed the Senegalese technician.
According to Souleymane Diallo, she prepared well for the double confrontation with Liberia with a lot of thought to validate the qualification.
With this qualification, the national team will compete in its second CHAN 2025. This continental competition is scheduled from February 1 to 28 in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.
