This Saturday evening, a power cut affected part of the municipalities of Visé and Dalhem. Residents have to spend their evening in the dark and without heating, while outside temperatures are negative.
“For hours and hours now, a good part of the city of Visé has been plunged into complete darkness and cold,” Ingrid told us via the orange Alert us button, this Saturday around 8:30 p.m. “We don’t know when the power will come back…”
Contacted by telephone, the whistleblower specified: “Some, but not all, homes are affected.” More public lighting in the street and more power – and heating for most of the affected households: this is how the inhabitants of Visé spend their evening.
Ingrid and Delphine took out their hiking gear to keep warm, all lit by candles. “We closed all the shutters we could, we don’t use mobile phones too much…”they say. “We’re okay, but we’re worried about the elderly people who live in the neighborhood.”
Luckily, Ingrid and Delphine live opposite an electrical cabin on which a technician from Resa – the electrical operator – works. “He said it was going to last three hours, maybe more.” According to information from our alerts, rescue groups are on the way, “despite the ice on the ground.”
On its Facebook page, Resa reassures: “The power outage in Visé/Dalhem is well taken care of. Part of it has already been restored. Generators are on the way to supply electricity to remaining customers during the repair.” On its main telephone line, Resa broadcasts an automatic message this Saturday evening: “A general problem impacting the municipality has been detected”it will be resolved “as soon as possible”. A contact with the electrical operator confirms a trip. “Troubleshooters are on site”he says without confirming a time or deadline.
The night is likely to be long and cold for the inhabitants of the municipalities concerned. Some of them, like Delphine: “Positive point, we can admire the stars”.
