A 64-year-old man lost his life in dramatic circumstances this Friday, December 27 in Charvieu-Chavagneux (Isère). The Vienna public prosecutor's office has opened a homicide investigation in order to shed light on this death, we learned News17confirming information from Dauphiné.
The firefighters were alerted shortly before 8 p.m. by a witness who had just witnessed a particularly shocking scene. A man was reportedly thrown from a car moving on the RD517, at the intersection with the Route de la Léchère and the Impasse le Pradet, on the border of the communes of Charvieu-Chavagneux and Janneyrias. The driver then deliberately drove over the victim's body before fleeing.
On their arrival, firefighters discovered the man, originally from Vaulx-en-Velin (Rhône), lying on the roadway in cardio-respiratory arrest. Emergency services quickly attended to him and tried to resuscitate him, to no avail. He was pronounced dead at 9 p.m.
On site, the gendarmes from the Pont-de-Chéruy brigade were immediately joined by the Bourgoin-Jallieu research brigade and the Grenoble research section, mobilized to carry out the first investigations. A representative of the Vienna public prosecutor's office and a forensic doctor also visited the scene. Criminal identification technicians from Grenoble made findings. An autopsy will be performed.
