War in Ukraine: TF1 and LCI on the ground

She is 22 years old and has been working on the front line as a nurse for nine months now. For her, it was obvious to get involved. Primara – nom de guerre – stores blood bags and cooks in her unit's rear base to provide for the needs of wounded and exhausted soldiers.

“It's the best place to be right now because I feel like there's no other way, because it's our home, even though I'm not from Donbass and I'm from northern Ukraine , it's still Ukraine and when someone comes here with weapons, I have to defend my country and I have to tell them that they have no right to be here.she says with emotion. “When you see all these victims with all these horrible injuries, you realize how much you hate your enemy, (..) and their level of hatred towards us.”

War, “a surrealist fable”

Despite her daily dedication, the young woman remains lucid about the evolution of the military situation in her country. “Anything is possible. But the most likely thing is that Russia will take over the place where we are sitting today. They will go further. Because they have more people, and because “They come and come and come back. It's sometimes difficult to fight against them with the number they are. And then… We need weapons.”recalls the nurse, who does not understand this war which she describes as “surrealist fable”.

Primara assures that she will fight to the end for victory, although the future is more uncertain than ever. She asks: “Are we going to be conquered by Russia? All of Donbass, all of Ukraine? Or maybe we are going to regain our territories, the territories currently occupied? (…) I don't know, I'm just a nurse.”

A sign that she remains hopeful despite everything, the 22-year-old young woman confides her wish to have children and become a doctor. A future that she hopes for without the Russians on Ukrainian territory.
