A crèche set up for the end-of-year celebrations, under the market hall of a village in Dordogne, La Roque-Gagean, was set on fire on the night of Friday December 27 to Saturday December 28, France Bleu Périgord has learned. The mayor of the town announces that he is filing a complaint.
“We are sad”writes the elected official, Jérôme Peyrat, on his Facebook account, “the cold, the frost, the humidity, the absence of a candle or an electrical system unfortunately make us think of a voluntary act which would have had more serious consequences on the framework of the hall and the surrounding chalets”while congratulating the rapid intervention of firefighters and police. At this stage, the precise origin of the fire is not yet known.
On his Facebook account, the mayor also announced that he was going to file a complaint and assured that a “new artwork” will be put in place. “We will not be impressed”adds Jérôme Peyrat.
