Every Wednesday, except holidays, municipal kitchens offer a meal for the elderly at a very low price. Eight euros with hors d'oeuvres, main course with side dish, cheese, dessert and aperitif, wine and coffee, you couldn't ask for more, especially since the cook Benoît, assisted by Laura and Charlotte, makes good dishes.
When we know that these days, the Christmas snack took place at the retirement home with logs, sweets and gifts, Ispagnac is definitely spoiling its elders and continuing to cultivate good living in the town. Wednesday fits perfectly into the schedule of the kitchen staff, since it is a school day off and therefore without a school canteen.
And Wednesday, December 18, at the elders' meal it was truly a party, Christmas in advance with champagne, kir, wines, a perfect menu, Christmas logs and even digestives. The Quebec bubbles were of course out, but accompanied by Italian or Champagne bubbles, obviously alcoholic.
Note the importance of volunteers (photo) who are there every Wednesday to help with the service, and with a smile to boot. What to add? Thinking about the elders throughout the year, both through the various associations, festivals, and through this Wednesday lunchtime meal, is a pleasure to see.
