He received a Player Career Award from the Globe Soccer Awards for his lifetime achievement.

The Belgian also spoke about Real Madrid during the ceremony: “Win the Champions League again? We still have faith. We can never give up on Real Madrid. We just need to qualify and the fun starts in the round of 16, where we are very good.
