A police officer assigned to CRS 40 of Plombières-lès-Dijon (Côte-d'Or) was found dead at his home this Friday morning, we learned News17 from police sources. Chief Brigadier, Yannick did not show up for work and could not be reached by telephone. His superiors alerted the gendarmerie in charge of the area where he lives.
The Auxonne gendarmes went to his home, noting his lack of response. The soldiers entered his home and discovered him lifeless in his room. The official had obviously ended his life. “Immense sadness upon learning of the disappearance of our colleague Yannick from CRS 40”reacted the Alliance Police Nationale union on Facebook. “All our thoughts are with his family, his loved ones and his colleagues. We share your pain in this ordeal”.
An investigation has been opened to determine the circumstances of the tragedy. This is at least the 16th suicide in the ranks of the national police in 2024, after those at the beginning of October of a police officer from Évry and an official from CRS 56 from Montpellier (Hérault).
