Dakar, Dec 27 (APS) – Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko declared, Friday, that the actions taken by Head of State Bassirou Diomaye Faye, since taking office on April 2, are “the clear expression » of the “systematic rupture” in governance and public administration.
“The actions that the President of the Republic has taken since taking office clearly demonstrate this turning point that our nation must take to restore the credit of the State and public administration before the people,” Ousmane said in particular. Sonko.
He spoke thus during his General Policy Declaration, at the National Assembly, in the presence of members of the government.
This paradigm shift is based on seven ruptures which will form the basis of public policies for the next 5 years, added Mr. Sonko, whose speech lasted 2 hours 15 minutes.
Among these announced ruptures, he expressed the desire of his government to work to transform public administration to make it efficient in its operation and to inscribe its actions in a certain ethics.
He also cited good governance and the requirement for accountability, the strengthening of decentralization, “serious planning”, “rigorous execution” and a policy not modeled on electoral deadlines.
“In accordance with the directives of the President of the Republic, we will proceed with the withdrawal of Senegal from any bilateral convention with a tax haven and will renegotiate the unfavorable clauses of the conventions concluded with States with normal taxation, when these conventions are unfavorable to us”, furthermore indicated Ousmane Sonko
