How will the ecological penalty evolve in 2025?

The ecological bonus has been reduced since December 2, 2024 :

Could the limitations expand further?
Other measures are being considered:
- 110 km/h on more highway sections : Although this has not yet been confirmed, the authorities are studying this extension to reinforce the reduction in emissions.
The end of the Interfile motorcycle?
Another major change concerns motorcyclists. The practice ofinterfileauthorized on an experimental basis since August 2021, will be prohibited from January 1, 2025. This experiment, carried out on motorways and two-lane roads separated by a central reservation in 21 French departmentsincluded Île-de-FranceLyon, Marseille, and regions like Gironde or Haute-Garonne. It allowed motorized two-wheelers and three-wheelers to circulate between lines, particularly during traffic jams, on the leftmost lane, without risking fines.
However, this practice has never been included in the Traffic Laws. At the end of the experiment, which was initially scheduled to end in September 2024 but was extended until the end of the year, the Road safety will report its results during the first months of 2025. If this analysis does not lead to a generalization of the interfile, motorcyclists will have to adapt to this ban, which risks disrupting their habits, particularly in dense urban areas. . We remind you, there is a €135 fine for this offense.

The reserved lane will be accessible to public transportto carpool vehicles with at least two occupants, taxisas well as emergency vehiclesto people with disabilities and, under certain conditions, to motorized two-wheelers. This initiative aims to reduce noise pollutionhas relieve congestion and to reduce fuel consumption. The City of Paris and the Ministry of Transport are working jointly on access details and connections with other road projects, such as the reserved lanes planned on the A1 and A13. A common implementation schedule is set for early 2025, guaranteeing harmonization of mobility infrastructure in the Ile-de-France region.
