Christmas allows us to create beautiful events, to generate emotion, to surprise, bringing its magic and bringing people together. It is in this state of mind that two Flagnacois organized a special evening.

Thomas Gagnan and Maxime Joseph, living on Chemin de la Griffoulière (below the castle), in Flagnac, decided to offer a “Christmas in Flagnac” evening at the beginning of December. They did not skimp on resources, showing a lot of creativity: two elves wandering around, sweets, hot wine and chocolate, free fruit juice. Sale of pancakes for the benefit of L’Olt 4L en virada (4L Trophy). And the icing on the cake, a sound, light and fireworks show.

A great fireworks show

The organizers expected around 200 people, there were between 650 and 700, who left with stars in their eyes. The road along the old stadium to the bend of the old equestrian center was crowded with people.

In addition to the children who had fun with the elves, young and old discovered the duo’s house, beautifully lit, and the fireworks show which was magnificent. Where does this idea come from? Thomas responds: “Ten years ago, I lived near (Loir-et-Cher). Passionate about Christmas and my basic job being a fireworks maker – I am still approved – I offered the inhabitants of my hamlet this kind of event. One thing led to another and it grew and we put on a big fireworks show.” Having recently settled in Flagnac, “we want to do the same thing. It comes from the heart, sticking to the image of Christmas, to offer and share moments of happiness, exchanges, conviviality which bring the population together”.

Maxime had the idea of supporting the humanitarian association Olt 4L en virada which will soon leave for the big 4L Trophy raid. “Sales of crepes have exceeded our expectations,” explains Valentin Guibert, delighted. To thank Thomas and Maxime, the mayor of Flagnac Olivier Lantuéjoul and his team welcomed them to the town hall, offering them a gift box and congratulating them for this creative and generous impulse, even if a donation box helped cover a small little expense: “As individuals, your initiative is wonderful, you have pleasantly surprised the inhabitants, while offering them an exceptional gift. Your integration into the village is perfectly successful. Perhaps you should found an association and better organize yourself when it comes to parking if you want to renew the initiative.”

The duo is already up for a second, even more grandiose edition in 2025.
