She calls for love and no longer hopes for it on Menelaus' side. The impostures then follow one another at the expense of the husband, in a fool's game which could have terrible consequences. »
This opera buffa in three acts, created in 1864, will be a triumph. Offenbach and his two accomplice librettists Meilhac and Halévy revisit the Homeric epic “while blithely mocking the failings of the imperial elite who surrounded Napoleon III”.
With Julie Robard-Gendre (Hélène), Philippe Talbot (Pâris), Anne-Catherine Gillet (Oreste), Charlie Guillemin (Ménélas), Franck Leguerinel (Agamemnon), Patrick Bolleire, Hoël Troadec, Antonel Boldan, Frédéric Cornille and artists from choir.
