The stand of the jeweler “Mauboussin” within the Le Printemps store, in the 20th arrondissement of Paris, was robbed during the night from Monday to Tuesday, AFP learned on Thursday from a police source.
The amount of damage was initially estimated at 500,000 euros before being reassessed at 300,000 euros, according to a source close to the case,
On the morning of December 24, when he took office, a security agent noticed that a window of Printemps Nation, located in the east of the capital, had been broken.
On surveillance cameras, an unidentified man is seen entering the store to grab jewelry from the Mauboussin jeweler's stand before quickly leaving the premises.
An investigation was opened for “burglary theft”, the Paris prosecutor's office told AFP, which entrusted the investigations to the second district of the Paris judicial police.
