Coming to see a film with friends, two teenage girls around fifteen discovered a bag of rat poison in their box of popcorn.
Nausea and stomach aches
As explained by Parisianthe two young girls had eaten half of their popcorn when they saw a closed bag of rat poison.
They then alerted the cinema security staff, also complaining of nausea and stomach aches. The establishment was evacuated as a precaution by the police.
The two teenagers were taken to hospital to assess the risks of poisoning but the sachet “discovery was closed, so there was little risk that they had consumed it”declared the mayor of Sarcelles Patrick Haddad to our colleagues in Parisian.
A complaint filed for unintentional injuries
It is unknown at this stage how the bag could have ended up in the young girls' popcorn. One of them also filed a complaint for involuntary injury.
The entire stock of the cinema was destroyed for security purposes but “no other sachets of poison were discovered there.”
Furthermore, the director of the establishment told Le Parisien that he had purchased two sachets of rat poison to eliminate mice.
The investigation continues to determine how one of them could have ended up in the popcorn.
