Soak up the magic of Christmas
Crèche or even Koula… 180 crèches from Alsace or Italy are set up in the church, and the people of Strasbourg are completely under the spell. “It’s magnificent. We find a child’s soul here,” marvels a visitor. “We don’t know where to look,” says another. In the middle of traditional crèches, a mechanical crèche offers a live show. “It’s really something to see: the diversity of the characters… and seeing them in movement… We’re like children!”, recalls an Alsatian, impressed by the realism.
For these Alsatians, this place also allows them to find peace during the holiday period and to learn. “We come simply to soak up the atmosphere, to have a little peace and quiet, to take our time, to look a little bit,” explains a father. “And to remind our daughter what the meaning of the holiday is,” adds the mother. The exhibition is so successful that this year it will close its doors at the end of January.
