What are the specificities of the Basque Coast sites within the University of Pau and the Adour region?
With his 13,000 students, the University of Pau and the Pays de l’Adour is multidisciplinary and has several sites on the Basque coast, Bayonne and Anglet. Our numbers are growing. Opened two years ago, the double degree in international law and economics management has been very successful with a high rate of pressure on Parcoursup. It is an attractive training model, which allows you to obtain a double diploma with the specificity of offering an international semester in the 3rd year. We also promote the teaching of the Basque language in two forms. First of all as a living language through a Basque license which, from the next school year, will open a double international pathway. Students will then hold a Basque degree from UPPA and a Basque degree from the University of the Basque Country in Spain. We also have a university diploma in Journalism in Basque in partnership with the Institute of Journalism of Bordeaux.
More generally, we emphasize the development of the training offer on the Basque Coast sites to enable more young people from this area to pursue higher education without moving away from home. Our workforce is up 6%.

How are your students supported?
With the exception of our double licenses, which are selective, our students mainly come from the region. In terms of support, we have established support on all University sites throughout the course. This device is called the PEPS (study and professional project in higher education) and makes it possible to build the young person's project throughout the three or four years of study, without forgetting to refine certain options and sometimes to consider a reorientation which will not be synonymous of failure. We then offer tutoring in a more traditional way with 80 tutors who support new entrants in training and life on campus.
What are the current projects?
Our desire is to expand the training offer in order to accommodate more students while by meeting local skills needs. We are therefore in the process of developing a digital sector with a 5-year course which passes through the ISANUM computer engineering school with a first class of 25 students. We had the same type of course on building and public works with ISABTP. A public management school has also emerged within the Institute of Business Administration (IAE) in Bayonne with a first class of 55 students. The course lasts 5 years with a work-study part. We are opening next year on Master's degree in management of sustainable organizations. These training courses are responses to the needs of the territory.
