The lantern trail lit up on November 24 and will not go out immediately. Indeed, the enchanted stroll invites you to stroll until the penultimate day of the year 2024. The magic continues during this first week of school holidays.
Finally, every evening, the queues disappear quite quickly in front of the entrance to the Lantern Trail. Florence smiles, this is the third time she has made the trip from Ars-sur-Moselle to explore this Boufflers square.
“I first came with my son’s two little daughters, then the cousin wanted to have the same experience, and the cousins insisted on coming back. And here I am, wandering around for the third time, with my husband…” she says with a burst of laughter.
The letter to Santa
The sixty-year-old does not forget to remind us, while pointing, that the children did not fail to slip the letter to Santa Claus into the box intended for this purpose. “The children had attached a pretty drawing, it was a Wednesday afternoon workshop.”
Some have exclaimed about the size of the object. Designed to match the number of visitors from the previous year, 170,000! But be careful, there are only a few hours left to send Santa a joke. Latecomers can rest assured, they will find all the materials for writing and drawing on site.
A magical walk
More than 2,000 illuminations decorate the back of the Metz court. The departmental council installed these authentic Chinese lanterns in a 5,000 m2 park, where the candy canes, candies and other elves took on the proportions of a fairy tale.
Floating sled
Like the Lantern Trail, Santa's floating sleigh does not stop its tour on the evening of the 24th. For the second year in a row, the electric boat provides a real stroll below the Lantern Trail and a unique view of the immense illuminated trees until December 30, every day from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
