The Gisèle Pelicot rape trial has repercussions even in federal Bern. Indeed, national advisor Jessica Jaccoud (PS/VD) has just tabled a postulate and a question on the chemical submission. In the first, it asks that the Federal Council define the notion of chemical submission, take stock of the cases recorded in Switzerland and identify the legal bases, existing or to be adopted, to prosecute their perpetrators. In the second, she asks what Switzerland is doing to combat this phenomenon. The Federal Council will have to respond to it by the spring session at the beginning of March.
