This Saturday, December 21, 2024, in a full house and an atmosphere of great evenings punctuated by the Gueules Sèches fanfare, Limoges CSP hosted Monaco on behalf of the 13th day of the Betclic Elite championship.
A complicated start to the meeting for Limoges
Damaged from the start of the match, Limoges had to chase the score throughout the match, facing a very good Monaco team in all aspects of the game.
The Limougauds, however, put in a great performance and even came back just two points in the third quarterand the latter may have regrets regarding lost balls or missed free throws.
The CSP is 0-7 from the first minutes of play, faced with very aggressive play from the Monegasques. But the Limougauds reacted quickly and through some great actions, they reduced the gap to 10-13.
Monaco manages to maintain a certain gap, particularly because of its effectiveness on long-distance shots and on the counter-attack (21-28).
Limoges sometimes lacks vigilance and is caught by their opponent. However, we must not leave such opportunities to a team like that of the Monegasques…
Halftime score: 44-56
Jean-Marc Dupraz's men started the second half well as they reduced the gap (52-56). Two successful free throws from Boum allow the Limougeauds to come back to 2 points (56-58). Then it was enough to miss free throws and the 3-point skill of the Monegasques for the gap to widen again (59-68).
Monaco runs to 3 points and hurts the CSP (66-82). The Limougauds are unable to find solutions during this pass of play. Fortunately, Lang connects the 3 points (71-85).
A nice combination allows Baptiste to place a new dunk in this match (73-88).
Diara, in turn, places a beautiful dunk for the CSP. The Limougauds are doing their best but that is not enough to close the gap.
Score final : 84-96
Although well marked by Begarin, Lang managed to score 22 points in this meeting.
22 points were also scored by Loyd for Monaco.
Next meeting for the CSP: this Monday, December 23, outside, facing the Paris Basket.
