No major surprises were recorded on Saturday during the matches of the 9th day of the Division Excellence de Basketball. The competition started last Friday with a victory for Maghreb of Fez on the Kawkab de Marrakech (85-68). A fourth success for the Canaries this season, which allows them to move up to 7th place in the table.
The shock of this 9th day took place on Saturday and opposed theAS Salé au Wydad of Casablanca. Determined to consolidate their position as leader, the Corsairs du Bouregreg dominated the debates from the first period which they sealed with a lead of 13 points (37-24). Pushed by their audience present in large numbers in the Bouazzaoui indoor hall, the Corsairs finished the job in the second half, thanks in particular to a Mohammed Chaoui Kouraïchi of the big evenings, author of 18 points, including 4 3-point baskets.
This new victory for AS Salé allows the club to have a provisional lead of one point at the top of the standings, pending the match which was to pit FUS against AS FAR on Sunday. Pursuing AS Salé in the ranking,IR Tangier also emerged victorious in his match against Amal Essaouira (83-67). The other Tangier club in the Excellence Division, the Then Tangierimposed himself on the floor of the club of the Midelt apple (63-53), while theAS Lixus Larache brought back the victory points from the floor of Chabab El Ouatia by Tan-Tan (86-73).
