A sordid affair of forced marriage turns into the rape of a thirteen-year-old girl. According to information from Dauphiné Libéréconfirmed by the public prosecutor of Grenoble (Isère), a thirteen-year-old minor of Romanian nationality was the victim of several rapes committed by her cousin, aged twenty-three and whom she was to marry after having been chosen by his parents.
On the night of December 16 to 17, the teenager presented herself in tears at the Grenoble mutual clinic. Panicked, she explained to the medical team that she had just run away from the apartment of her cousin's parents to whom her family wanted to marry her by force.

She also confided that she was raped several times by her cousin, aged twenty-three. The latter had gone to pick her up from a Roma camp, in Cergy, in the Paris region, with her two brothers, to bring her back to Grenoble.

After an ordeal which lasted three days, the victim said he escaped through the window of the apartment.
Sheltered by child welfare
According to details provided by the Grenoble public prosecutor, Éric Vaillant, the parents of the teenager, entrusted to child welfare, wanted her to marry her cousin.

Placed in police custody on December 18 and 19, the cousin, his two brothers, the uncle and aunt and the father of the minor, “ended up – at the very least – recognizing the existence of a marriage plan”indicated Éric Vaillant.
A judicial investigation for rape of a minor aged fifteen, kidnapping and sequestration to facilitate a crime or misdemeanor was opened on Friday December 20.
The cousin was indicted and imprisoned for “rape of a minor aged fifteen by an adult with an age difference of at least five years”kidnapping and sequestration.
The girl's father was indicted for complicity in kidnapping and forcible confinement. He was placed under judicial supervision, contrary to the requests of the prosecution which appealed this decision. The cousin's parents were placed under assisted witness status. The prosecution also appealed.
