Orange alert for violent winds: closure of certain Christmas markets, the funfair, parks and gardens and cemeteries
This Sunday, December 22, the department of Ille-et-Vilaine is placed on orange alert for “strong winds”. In order to preserve the safety of people, the City of Rennes is obliged to take preventive measures.
Municipal decrees were issued this Saturday, December 21. Sunday, December 22 from 12 p.m. until 7 p.m.:
the winter funfair, located on the Général-de-Gaulle esplanade, will be closed;
the Christmas markets at Mail François-Mitterrand and Place du Parlement will be closed;
due to the risk of falling branches, parks and gardens will be closed;
the City's three cemeteries will be closed.
Shops remain open and access to the STAR network, free this Sunday, is preserved.
Under the marquee, the designers' Christmas market on Place Hoche also remains open.
These measures may be lifted or extended depending on changes in weather forecasts.
