At the age of 73, Georges Abdallah has already spent more than 40 years in prison in France for complicity in the assassination of two diplomats, American and Israeli. He was sentenced to life imprisonment in 1987. The 11e Georges Abdallah's request for conditional release was accepted on November 15 by the courts. He was due to leave on December 6 to return to Lebanon but the Prosecutor's Office appealed and the decision was suspended.
The Paris Court of Appeal will rule on February 20 on the request for conditional release of this iconic figure of the Palestinian cause. If the court confirms the court's decision, Georges Abdallah should be released.
Jacqueline Lavy, one of the organizers of the Annecy movement underlined: “Far from being dejected by this new deadline, all support will remain mobilized until February 20. »
At the same time, a rally took place in Paris, Place de la République.
