« I am delighted to be resuming this show in Toulouse, one of our favorite stops, since we have already done Le Couronne ment by Poppée, Témistocle by J.-C. Bach, Les Indes Galantes, Castor et Pollux by Rameau, and Orphée by Gluck in particular. It’s a joy to find these great hits from Julius Caesar!
If we find the excellent Elizabeth DeShong in the role of Julius Caesar, I have not yet had the chance to work with the other soloists in this cast. But these are artists that I have noticed for a long time! The American countertenor Key’mon Murrah is truly extraordinary. Likewise for William Shelton. As for Rose Naggar-Tremblayshe is a brilliant Canadian singer. I discovered Edwin Fardini a few years ago, and I was immediately touched by his tone and his expressiveness.
I met Damiano Michieletto at La Scala in Milan many years ago. He is a director who excels in the way of revisiting works. He masters Italian “smile” humor to perfection. »
