Charles Pécriaux wanted it all

“It was time to win it!” » These were the first words of Charles Pécriaux upon arrival, after his very good victory at home this Friday evening on the 30e edition of the Saint-Pierre-des-Corps bullfight. Second last year behind Jean-Baptiste Aubanton (AJBO), the Corpopétrussien did not want to let victory escape this time.

So as usual, he set a fantastic pace for his opponents at the start of the race, passing the first kilometer in 2'48. Only Aubanton tried to hang on, but he would pay dearly afterwards. Behind, we found a group led by Goran Boucard (Joué Running 37) and the triathletes Corentin Lefer (US Triathlon) and Guillaume Hay (Sainte-Geneviève Triathlon).

The group regrouped at the second kilometer but Charles Pécriaux had ants in his legs and showed a lot of generosity in the effort, continuing to impose his tempo. He managed to regain a short lead which he kept until the finish despite the return of Corentin Lefer in the final straight. “The time isn't crazy, but I was missing someone with me to help me. But the main thing was victory. » A deserved victory and won with panache.

Goran Bouchard, the hope of the JR 37, completed the very satisfied podium: “I am very happy with my race which confirms my progress, particularly at the end of the race where I managed to hurt myself. » Note that Jérémy Legout (Free Run Athlé 37), 7esets a new master league record in 15'04.

Charlène Etoile crushes the women's 5 km

Among the women, while we were expecting an undecided race, there was ultimately little suspense with Charlène Etoile (Free Run Athlé 37) who never saw her opponents of the day, Milène Proust (AJBO), 2e at 14 seconds and Sophie Rocheteau (A3T), 3e at 22 seconds, “little in legs”.

In 17'24, the Sarthoise established a personal best even if she did not experience optimal conditions: “I left quickly to gauge the competition and I was quickly in the lead, which was good for my morale. However, I didn't have much fun because I arrived at the last moment, in a hurry and I had difficulty getting into it,” she said.

Mattéo Couet easy on the mile

Before the hotly contested 5 km race, the mile (1,609.34 m) set the tone with an explosive race. On the only mile of the Centre-Val de league, which makes the Saint-Pierre bullfight original, the men's and women's victories went to AO Charenton with Mattéo Couet and Camille Mortamet, both specialists in bullfighting. 1,500 m.

“We came from the region but I am originally from Montlouis. It was a great race, especially to prepare for the cross court, where we hope to qualify for the French championships with the club,” explained Mattéo Couet.
