This time it’s the right one! First announced for November, the opening of the Janken Manga Bar, rue du Sec-Arembault in Lille (North) is finally scheduled for this Saturday, December 21. “I can’t wait to start this new chapter in my life,” comments Mohamed Bourich, the manager, who still has to deal with last minute hazards.

If the main room is finished, you will need to have a little more patience to enjoy the back room dedicated to traditional Japan, where you can indulge in karaoke sessions. “I still miss the tatami mats, they come from Japan. So delivery took a little longer than expected…”

The supply of manga has already started, but here again, the thirty-year-old, perfectionist, has decided to take his time to refine his selection. The manga library should therefore be enriched in the coming days. “I assume that everything is not perfect yet. I hope people will be forgiving. This is a first for me and I’m learning as I progress with this project…”

In the meantime, visitors will be able, as planned, to settle down to taste bubble teas, onigiris and other delicacies straight from the Land of the Rising Sun but also try… authentic Japanese toilets!

Janken Manga Bar, 35, rue du Sec-Arembault, open Tuesday to Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday, 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Instagram: @JankenMangaBar; TikTok: Janken. Manga. Bar. This Saturday, December 21, the first 50 bubble teas are free.
