After the general assembly of the Brest Tennis Club (TCB), Friday November 22, 2024 and the election of a new office, president Maurice Pers, in office since 2018, was replaced by two co-presidents Yves Estévenon (former treasurer) and Sébastien Floc’h. The two men, and their team, are motivated and determined to continue the work started by their predecessor and to bring the club’s women’s and men’s teams (five women’s, thirteen men’s and 17 youth) teams to the higher ranks.
For now, the duo hopes to see the current files resolved in 2025, namely the approval of the two padel courses, although recent (2021), the repair of the roof of the synthetic courses and the return to operation of court no. 5 following the damage caused by storm Ciaran in November 2023.
The club has become a small business with employees and we must have strong ambitions to make the club grow further.
With 1,026 licensees including 300 schoolchildren, the Ponant club, the leading Breton club and the first club with more than 1,000 licensees, deserves infrastructure worthy of its rank. “The club has become a small business with employees and we must have strong ambitions to make the club grow further,” explains Nicolas Dreux, new treasurer of the club.
Repeat the “Celebrate the wall” operation
The club also wishes to expand its partnerships. “We are going to continue, which is to be attributed to the very positive results of Maurice Pers, the operation “Celebrate the wall”. I absolutely want us to continue to have this inclusive side. We certainly have competition on one side but we are also a club which welcomes young people from the neighborhood and those who are not so young,” adds Yves Estévenon.
Improving the reception and comfort of players, spectators or visitors are also two priority subjects for the two co-presidents. Among the many projects to achieve this, the construction of a new clubhouse, more modern and close to the courts, is still on the table.
