SENEGAL-EDUCATION / Diourbel: the scientific high school of excellence rewards its best students – Senegalese press agency

Diourbel, Dec 20 (APS) – The best students from the scientific high school of excellence in Diourbel (center) were awarded prizes on Thursday, on the occasion of its traditional day of excellence.

The ceremony was chaired by the deputy governor of Diourbel in charge of development, Djibril Diop, in the presence of the director of general middle secondary education at the Ministry of National Education, the deputy prefect of Diourbel, the the academy inspector, the teaching staff and the parents of the students.

“What we have seen here with students who have averages above seventeen shows that the establishment holds its place as a school of excellence,” declared the director of general middle secondary education, Pape Kandji, representative of the Minister of National Education, at this ceremony.

To this end, he praised the commitment and dedication of the management team, particularly the administration and the teaching team.

Regarding the promotion of mathematics and sciences, Mr. Kandji indicated that the authorities are making enormous efforts to densify scientific and technological blocks.

The director of general middle secondary education reiterated the government’s ambition to put teachers and students in excellent conditions.

The president of the school government, Mame Fatim Mbaye, a first S1 student, praised the good organization of this ceremony which testifies to the desire of all stakeholders to maintain the dynamic of excellence of the Diourbel scientific high school.

She also called on the public authorities to improve food, housing and especially scholarships to guarantee a better study environment for students.
