A man was arrested on Tuesday December 17 in after insulting and threatening police officers while smoking cannabis. David Lisnard will ask that his family be excluded from their social housing.

The mayor of Cannes, David Lisnard, has announced his intention to evict from his social housing the family of a person accused of having threatened and insulted police officers.

In a publication on the social network

Around 10 p.m., “during a patrol”, the police came across three people. One of them “taunts them by smoking cannabis”, films herself insulting the agents and threatens them several times.

The municipal police therefore proceeded to arrest this man “by using force”. But the latter then allegedly shouted to attract the attention of his friends and family, while continuing to insult the police.

Man sentenced to citizenship training

“Several people, including his father, tried to help him by threatening us,” the police continue in their report, explaining that they still managed to arrest the man, who was handed over to a judicial police officer.

According to information from -Matin, this arrest took place in the La Frayère sector, in La Bocca. The man accused occupies social housing in Cannes with his family.

On the social network The next day, the councilor joked about the conviction of the arrested man, who must “complete a citizenship course”.
